Events Event Speaker Caitlin O'Connor

Caitlin holds a BA in Anthropology from Reed College and a MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Since earning her degree she has accumulated extensive experience in the development and management of customized taxonomies and metadata schemas for a variety of organizations. Caitlin is Senior Manager of Metadata & Taxonomy for the Direct to Consumer and International division of the Walt Disney Company where she oversees a content tagging operation as well as taxonomy development and metadata services . Prior to her work at Disney she was Director of SEO & Taxonomy at Guitar Center where she led a cross functional team of eight and directed several core digital marketing functions including taxonomy, search optimization, and information storage, organization, and retrieval. Prior to working at Guitar Center, she worked at Indiana University Kelley School of Business developing unique taxonomies for several information management applications, leading digital asset management for a large multi-media repository, and overseeing video annotation efforts.
