Janis Weber is a member of the Accounting Faculty at the Hoover School of Accounting, Financial, and Information Services at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), where she holds the Alumni Professorship in Accounting. Janis earned a DBA with Accounting concentration from Liberty University, an MBA from Regis University, and an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Arkansas System.

Janis is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and practiced public accounting for more than 20 years in Bastrop, Louisiana, where she provided tax and advisory services to small businesses and individuals, serving a large niche market of physicians. During her time in public practice, Janis was extensively involved in community and professional organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce, community theatre, and her church, as well as various American Institute of CPAs and Louisiana Society of CPAs committees. In the academic arena, she is actively involved with the National Business Educators Association, at state, regional, and national levels.

Online delivery of educational content with excellence has been one of the highest priorities of Janis’ teaching career. She has taught hundreds of challenging accounting courses in online format, producing supporting video content and creating novel assignments to underwrite learning and engagement. She served as lead author on a study guide and workbook to enhance student understanding of complex accounting concepts, and contributed the authorship of multiple chapters in the Openstax open access textbook covering Introductory Financial Accounting.
