Jessica Kelley is an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker, a foster parent, and a fierce defender of the Oxford comma. 

She began her two decades of video production experience in the Mid-Ohio Valley where she developed her first local television show in 2007. She then studied in Beijing, China for her Master's degree in International Media.

After graduation, her career brought her to New York where she produced over 50 short films, 4 digital series, 3 live events, and a handful of ad campaigns for multiple brands, garnering her an Edward R. Murrow award. 

She was one of the first journalists in the United States chosen for the Facebook Video Accelerator Program and awarded a $15,000 grant to produce more content that inspired audiences. In 2019, she was recognized as directing the “Best TV Series of the Year” according to the International Association of Culinary Professionals and the New York Emmys. 

In 2020, she was awarded a Peabody for the film, Long Island Divided which uncovered widespread evidence of unequal treatment to minority homebuyers by real estate agents on Long Island.  

Today, she is an independent filmmaker with her first narrative film recently chosen as a semifinalist at the New York International Women's Film Festival and directing a true crime docuseries projected to hit streaming services next year.
