Tracey has a 25-year career in DAM at GLAM institutions. She believes that transparency and good communication are key factors to success in any DAM implementation. Developing trusted partnerships between disparate groups of GLAM staff – curators, archaeologists, librarians, arborists, IT, hospitality, sales and marketing- can positively bridge the gap between tradition and technology.
At The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, she successfully implemented the first DAM system and established digital preservation standards that enhanced accessibility for internal and external partners. She has shepherded the continual evolution of the DAM program into an enterprise-wide solution that provides a solid foundation for the museum’s position as a trusted source of information on the history of early America. As Colonial Williamsburg approaches its 100th year anniversary in 2026, as well as the 250th birthday of our nation, the foundation is developing its first ever digital museum to connect with diverse audiences around the world. The DAM serves as the backbone for this work and a critical key to its success. It’s an exciting time to be in DAM at Colonial Williamsburg!
