Sam Rucker is the Chief Information Officer at The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is the first person of color to lead technology at America’s largest outdoor museum. An experienced Information Technology leader, Sam excels at building high-performing teams and optimizing the value of technology to the business. During his 22-years at Colonial Williamsburg, Sam has established critical functions like cybersecurity and business relationship management. He has implemented transformative technologies like virtualization and cloud. A self-professed “techie,” Sam has enjoyed numerous technical roles throughout his career, including software developer, systems engineer, systems analyst, and infrastructure engineer. Sam’s passion for excellence manifests itself outside of Information Technology as well.
