The mission of The Mariners’ Museum and Park in Newport News, Virginia is to connect people to the world’s waters, because that is how we are connected to one another. The Museum, set in an oasis of a 550-acre park, has 90,000 square feet of exhibition galleries including the award-winning USS Monitor Center. The Mariners’ Museum Library and Archives is home to nearly 110,000 books; 800,000 photographs, films, and negatives; and over 1 million pieces of archival material, making it the largest maritime library in the Western Hemisphere.
DAM Manager Marc Marsocci explains how DAM has become central to every facet of the Museums’ operations and figures prominently from its deepest archives to its local community and global outreach – with metrics and reporting all along the way.
DAM helped the Mariners’ start its own Age of (Digital) Exploration; join us on this webinar to learn about this exciting journey as it continues to unfold and find new shores.
