Lucy is a tax associate in the Global Corporate Group and a member of the firm’s private equity practice. She advises on a range of direct and indirect tax matters, including UK and cross-border M&A, management buy-outs, tax strategy, international structuring and corporate reorganisations. Lucy started her tax career at international law firm King & Wood Mallesons (formerly SJ Berwin). She then ran her own business for five years, helping professional advisers improve the quality of their client communications.

Gary is head of the firm's planning and compulsory purchase team. He specialises in major planning applications, infrastructure agreements (including section 106 agreements), compulsory purchase and compensation (including advocacy), and highway aspects of development. He is a member of the Law Society's Planning Panel, a legal associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Higher Court Advocate. He is also a national committee member of the Compulsory Purchase Association.

Changes are proposed to national planning policy on viability. Land value capture is being considered by a House of Commons committee.

Adam has over 25 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor specialising in the primary care sector. He acts for numerous GP practices as well as property developers, investors, banks and pharmacy operators. Much of his time is spent on the development of new medical centres but he also undertakes valuations, rent reviews and investment transactions. Adam formed Primary Care Surveyors in 2009, with the aim of providing a high quality and cost-effective service in this niche market.

Property and practice are inextricably linked in the provision of primary healthcare. The property must be fit-for-purpose in size, form and condition and meet the present and future needs of practitioners. This is a future that includes the creation of larger practices, often through mergers, so-called super-practices and the co-location of care services and hospital outreach specialities alongside GP partnerships within those premises.

Kate Nicholls began working as a consultant to the ALMR in 1997, at which time she was Director at the UK’s largest independent PA/PR agency. Kate became Head of Communications in 2002 before being appointed to the role of Strategic Affairs Director in 2010 and the ALMR Board in 2013. Before joining the ALMR, Kate worked in the House of Commons and the European Parliament and at Whitbread as Government Relations Manager.
